Week 18 - Cabin in the woods & a fake moustache

Here is the cabin we stay in.

These are pictures of my area. I see a lot of deer here, which is what these are.
They are everywhere. Also I saw some peacocks. That was weird.

Week 16 - Baptism and a Cross

On Saturday our investigator Aaron got baptized. It was really interesting planning
for that because the day before we had to change the location of the baptism. But it all worked out fine.

For p-day our district hiked up to a huge cross that is on a hill in Colville

I like all of the sticky notes that were in the box, I put them in the front
of my journal with the rest of the notes I have been collecting.

Week 14 - Farewell and one last photo!

I'm a little sad to be leaving Sunnyside and Elder Shirk but
I am excited to go serve in a new area and bring the Gospel to the people there!

Week 13 - Looking good in glasses!

 E. Johnson got some glasses from another missionary for some reason. They aren't prescription so I wore them all day Friday. I met lots of people in Westmond whilst wearing them. Here are the pictures I took.

Weeks 11 and 12 - Pumpkin carving and matching ties

The best time to wear matching pumpkin ties is - all the time!

This is a poor quality picture but it's a truck we saw in Montana. It's license plate is IBRUTUS. It was huge!

Back from carving pumpkins!  This is the whole districts'.  We carved our pumpkins and then Elder Johnson said, "You ain't down to wear your pumpkin on your head. I'll do it if you do." So we did.

Week 10 - Trip to the Temple

As a district we went to the Spokane Temple. It was a 7:30 session so we had to wake up at 5 in order to get there on time. On the way back we had lunch with, Bro. Loutzenhizer, the member who drove us. I'm really tired right now but it was definitely worth it.

Week 9 - "Creepy Face" tie, "Scary Gnome" thing and Elder Shirk

Here are some pictures of my week. This is a tie I got from a returned missionary in the ward.
I call it creepy face tie. I can't really wear it out here, but maybe when I get back.

I think I might have written about the scary gnome thing that lives in our apartment but it has moved locations.
It used to stare at me while I slept so I moved it. It now lives in the closet.

I took a picture of me and E. Shirk together but then E. Johnson felt left out so I had to take a couple with him too.
So here these are. E. Van Ry is also in the background of one of them I think.

Okay so the little army men is something I don't think I've told you about yet. Before I came out into the field Elder Baczuk went on exchanges with Elder Johnson (not the zone leader though a different Elder Johnson) and while they were on exchanges E. Johnson hid a whole bags worth of army men around the apartment. The whole time I was with E. Baczuk he was finding them everywhere - like in the shower, in his bag, and he even found one in his suit pocket. After a while I forgot about them but a couple nights ago I walked in on Elder Shirk recording his thoughts and he was looking at one of them and talking about how he kept finding them throughout the apartment. I started laughing really hard.

Week 8 - Chris and a turtle

It has been a pretty good week. We have transfers coming up this week and I am going
to get a new trainer. I'm kinda nervous but I think it will turn out okay. I am still going to
be in the same area so at least some things are going to stay the same.
We spent a lot of time driving because we had to go see the Clark Fork area and then
drive to our area in Montana. We got to visit with Chris who was baptized last week and
he is still doing well. We taught him the restoration again.

I was on exchanges with Elder Van Ry again. We tracted a lot on dirt roads. Accidentally
tracted into a couple of members, which was fun. We also went and visited a less-active
member who has 3 dogs that are all blind. They would shuffle along and bump into the
furniture and each other. It was pretty funny.

Week 7

This was a really busy day. After our studies we got to teach a lesson to a new referral and have lunch with them. We then had to drive 20 mins back to the stake center to prepare the baptismal font for Chris's baptism. During the baptism Elder Baczuk and I gave a presentation on the first vision and then I had to give a talk about the Holy Ghost. Afterwards we had to drive 50 mins to get to Priest River and attend a baptism there that Elder Baczuk was invited to. It was however a very spiritual day and I learned a lot. During the really long car rides we listened to talks and devotionals from Elder Holland. And the baptisms were incredible. Several investigators attended and got to feel the spirit there.

Week 6 - Elder Baczuk hit a bear!

A selfie I took at training meeting
We had specialized training from 10 am to 2 pm. We got to hear from President Dymock. He has a lot of knowledge about symbolism and doctrine. His lesson kinda blew my mind. We also got to hear from Sister Dymock who is just as awesome, she talked more about stress though and how we can receive help for that. Afterwards we were super tired, I don't know why but meetings really drain you of your energy!

Elder Johnson getting lassoed!

At a training meeting with Elder Van Ry
Elder Baczuk says that I'm starting to get bags under my eyes just like his! Means I'm really starting to become a missionary!

Elder Baczuk's new t-shirt, he looks pretty pumped about it!
Went on exchanges in Elder Van Ry's area. We did service for a member, drove around a lot and went to Panhandlers with Elder Baczuk and Elder Goodwin. I'm so mad. the one time I wasn't in the truck with Elder Baczuk, he hit a bear in the road and sent it flying off of a cliff. The truck wasn't damaged though.
A lookout at a member's house.

Week 5 - Ode to Spongebob

My haircut (Elder Baczuk did it), it's very short!!

This was my outfit last p-day. We've been wearing sweaters a lot and I always sing "the best time to wear a striped sweater"

I took this picture while driving
